About L&ON.
Love & Other Necessities is actually mainly just me, Dirkje Bakker-Pierre (aka Derrekien).
A former creative who found herself on the path of spiritual awakening and has been moving on the crossroads of creativity and spirituality ever since.
She started out with a degree in graphic design and worked as a designer and art director for many years running her own agency (No Office) where she worked mainly in the fashion industry.
She spent a lot of time with several spiritual teachers and guru’s around the globe and this is where she learned and developed her skills in working with energy and meditation/self discovery.
An experienced energy worker/reader with over 10000 readings she not only offers her own services and products but is also active in working with others who are interested in discovering and growing their skills. To bring more freedom and love into this reality and support others who are aiming to do the same.

Freedom drawings & Fashion.
The Freedom Drawings series, the idea for Love & Other Necessities and the dream to share all of this with the world originated during my travels around the globe and into the world of meditation, spirituality and pure, intuitive creativity.
Each Freedom Drawing carries the energy of a spiritual lesson. They all start with a word, then a meditation into the depth of the feeling of the word and then the form coming from there. Everything I discovered, every lesson that i learned, is manifested through these drawings.
They are never planned, always free-style, made in the moment and straight from the heart. They just happen, like everything else really.
For me a logical step was to turn them into a book, so i can take others by the hand if they are interested in following this path. As well as all-over prints for yoga and street fashion, so they can be worn on the body and so wrap the wearer in their energy. The prints are all over, the colours bold, the outfits statement but playful at the same time. Ever again to bring more inspiration and fun and freedom of expression to this reality.
